Achievement Synchrony

FOR SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS, TEACHERS, AND PARENTS

What is Achievement Synchrony?

Achievement Synchrony is a dynamic educational system that creates for a class or the entire school a teaching rhythm that captures the motivations of students, parents, and teachers. Its name is derived from the fact that, first, it organizes students, teachers, and parents into a rhythm of cooperation aimed at promoting student mental, emotional, social, and character development. When implemented it generates a growth mindset, is highly person centered, and builds relationships focused on improved learning skills. Second, it enables teachers to accelerate progress through the curriculum because they also teach character qualities, motivational tools, and engagement skills.

See the results of several participating schools after they incorporated Achievement Synchrony into their classrooms and partnered with parents. These schools reported national achievement test scores at the end of one year after using Achievement Synchrony and how their test scores compared to the previous year. (*West Elementary scores represent second-year results.) Look at the effects of a parent-teacher partnership.

Who can use Achievement Synchrony?

Achievement Synchrony can be implemented by individual teachers, by several teachers, or by the entire school. It has demonstrated significant success with students from many different backgrounds but especially with Tier-2 students whose emotional, social, and mental challenges in the classroom make learning a challenge and teaching difficult. It has been implemented by more than one hundred schools. When parents, teachers, and students all share in the creation of an achievement  context focused on high-level learning, it results in a powerful form of motivation and skill development that adds to teachers’ effectiveness.
